Gold Award from the Edinburgh Restaurateurs Association
Amber Restaurant at the Scotch Whisky Experience has won the highest accolade “gold award” from the discerning palates of critics of the Edinburgh Restaurateurs Association.
Amber competed with over 100 of the best of Edinburgh’s restaurants. The capital’s top eating establishments were assessed in a scheme, now in its second year, organised by the ERA chairman, Malcolm Duck. The results are published in full in the long running Edinburgh directory: Edinburgh Capital Guide.
Amber is unique in offering a whisky advisor to assist customers in choosing from 300 different whiskies to compliment the menu. A good wine and spirits list, and choice of cocktails, are also available.
Restaurant, Hospitality Manager and Chef, Wendy Neave has worked closely with Head Chef David Neave to create the menu, dining environment and first class team that have won Amber this well deserved praise.
David and Wendy ensure that the menu celebrates the very best of Scottish cuisine. The ingredients, like the whiskies at the bar, come from the length and breadth of Scotland. Popular main courses are the renowned beef, selected from the Duke of Bucchleuch’s estates and wild Highland Venison. Recipes only use whisky where it is appropriate to enhance a dish.
